Ten vehicle, including 4 trucks and 6 light cars, were set on fire by unknown arsonists in Kempton Park.
According to the reports, firefight services received information about the incident at Spartan on Steel Road on Tuesday afternoon and speedily responded with a unit deployment.
“Initial information stated that one truck was well alight, but on arrival the scene was different. Three extra trucks were also found engulfed by flames. Backup was called,” Ekurhuleni EMS spokesperson William Ntladi said.
It’s been confirmed that the two truckers successfully escaped the scene with minor injuries. Others remain in hospital in stable condition.
According to the media articles, several plastic industry workers, who previously organized a strike, stood behind the arson. However, this information has not been confirmed by the officials yet.
