On Tuesday morning, January 29, ZIMRA’s warehouse in Beitbridge was engulfed in flames. It is known that a strong fire destroyed and damaged property in stock — previously confiscated from travelers who had crossed the border.
At the moment, the amount of damage is being established, but presumably, it can reach millions.
Previously, a cloud of smoke rose above the warehouse, and then a strong fire started. The blaze was extinguished by fire brigades from the Beitbridge municipality.
It was a second border post fire in the last three years that had destroyed the state warehouse.
