Western Cape firefighters monitor two strong blazes in the province

Western Cape rescuers fight with fire in two locations in the province. First, the fire that broke out on Signal Hill on Sunday afternoon was extinguished. However, another fire, broke out in the Botrivier region, still raging.

It is known, that, during a fire at Signal Hill one person suffered. Yhe man was there when the fire captured the terrain. Later the fire was put out:

“No structures have been damaged or burnt, firefighters are working on the fire. The City of Cape Town and VWS remain on the scene along with aerial support to conclude with mopping operations,” said Lauren Howard from Working on Fire.

At the moment, Western Cape firefighters are trying to put out the fire in Botrivier, in Overberg. It is known, that many local residents were evacuated from the scene:

“There were evacuations that took place in Lebanon, but as far as I know, there is no damage to property or people being affected and no injuries were reported as well,” stressed Howard.
