Evan Mawarire, an activist of Zimbabwe protests, who was arrested by the police in connection with charges of subversion amid violent anti-government actions, can be released on bail.
The corresponding application must be submitted at a High Court hearing on January 25, on Friday.
Lawyers claim that Evan Mawarire is on the list of one hundred people who will face trial in the cities where the largest protests took place – Harare, Bulawayo and two other cities. Zimbabweans will be tried for violation of public order.
Mawarire is currently imprisoned at Chikurubi Maximum Prison in Harare.
Earlier, President Emmerson Mnangagwa promised Zimbabweans to deal with the actions of security services, which used violency against protestors.
