On Friday, January 25, the intentions of the Democratic Municipal and Allied Workers Union of South Africa (Demawusa) members to go on strike have become clear.
The union members plan to go on strike on Monday, January 28, at Metrobus.
The Democratic Municipal and Allied Workers Union of South Africa (Demawusa) believe that there is no equality in the distribution of wages among workers. In addition, the union demands freedom to form trade unions:
“Other issues that we are demanding is to call an end to union bashing because everyone has the right to the freedom of association and every employee has the right to form a trade union,” Demawusa’s spokesperson stressed.
Previously, the union’s nine days long strike challenged bus passengers.
