Members of the Portfolio Committee on Communications will shortly compile a list of potential members of the board of directors for the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) and conduct interviews for them.
As the press service of the South African government stressed, the collection of all resumes started only a few last week.
At the same time, the process of recruiting in the SABC board of directors was initiated by the committee during the holiday season.
According to the chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Communications, Prof Hlengiwe Mkhize, the process of filling eight vacant posts at the SABC board should consist of several clear points, that should be followed.
So, applications from the public should be sent to the secretary of the committee, who will collect all the summaries. Further, the committee will make a short list and hold interviews, after which it will recommend the best candidates to the National Assembly for approval.
