North-West students are warned about the fraud of unregistered educational institutions

The North West Department of Economy and Enterprise Development appealed to South Africans to be more careful when choosing a higher educational institution.

According to the department, some private higher education institutions are not accredited with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), although they have fake documents confirming registration.

The North West Department of Economy and Enterprise Development made recommendations to future students and their parents, urged them to verify in advance the legitimacy of the work of the institutions.

Matriculants must verify that the institution has accreditation at DHET and registered with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA). Often, illegally operating institutions and universities lure students into misleading advertising.
