South African Airways (SAA) warns residents of new flight cancelations, applying to its Johannesburg-Malawi route.
According to a statement made on Monday, January 22, national carrier will not provide flights to Blantyre on Wednesdays as a part of a corrective action plan, which has been implemented after the audit at Chileka International Airport completed. In particular, these measures affect two flights — SA172 Johannesburg to Blantyre and SA173 Blantyre to Johannesburg.
The operator expressed hope that services would be restored as speedily as possible. To quickly do it SAA even formed a personal group of specialists to help local staff in their mission.
“We are encouraged by the level of commitment and urgency displayed by the authorities in working towards resolving the situation as speedily as possibly. We apologise to our passengers and customers for the inconvenience caused by these cancellations,” said SAA spokesperson Tlali Tlali.
He also mentioned that the carrier is monitoring the situation on a daily basis.
