On Tuesday, January 22, Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo appointed Peter Pedlar as Acting Secretary to the Commission of Inquiry into allegations of State capture. It is assumed that Pedlar will act as secretary until February 28.
The commission investigating the accusations of bribery officials is headed by Raymond Zondo. Peter Pedlar gets to work after commission secretary, Dr Khotso De Wee, asked for special leave.
“The chairperson has appointed Mr Peter Pedlar as acting secretary of the Commission for the period 22 Jan to 28 Feb 2019. Should the investigation against Dr De Wee be finalised earlier than 28 Feb, Mr Pedlar’s appointment may be terminated earlier,” Zondo comission noted.
