South Africa refused the request for a loan of $ 1.2 billion to Zimbabwe. It was announced on Monday, January 21, by National Treasury spokesperson Jabulani Sikhakhane.
According to Sikhakhane, South Africa cannot provide a loan to Zimbabwe because it does not have such financial resources.
Earlier, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa said that he would deal with the economic situation in the country when returned from a European tour. Mnangagwa is forced to miss the World Economic Forum in Davos to pay due attention to the crisis in Zimbabwe.
Last week, in Zimbabwe broke out anti-government protests related to a planned increase in fuel prices.
