On Friday, January 18, the Internet was completely turned off again in Zimbabwe, although providers have partially restored the connection this week.
The largest mobile operator in Zimbabwe, Econet, has denounced users that company have once again instructed to turn off the Internet connection in the country.
The newly introduced restrictions mean, that local residents will not be able to access the broadband or internet connection on mobile phones.
Recall, that the Internet was turned off in Zimbabwe on Tuesday and turned on again on Thursday.
According to Zimbabwe’s Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa, the government has developed a new law to regulate abuses on the Internet. According to preliminary information, the bill has already been approved by the cabinet.
