The South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) would continue searching for missing people and not stop the process until each of them have been found.
According to the DIRCO representative Ndivhuwo Mabaya, families of victims have arrived to Mozambique, and now they are waiting for news from their relatives.
“We do hope that they are still alive, but the doctors and the rescue teams are saying the chances are that they are no longer alive. And I think the fact that we have found one body brings the reality that they’re no longer there, but we will find all the bodies and not leave that island until they are found,” noted Ndivhuwo Mabaya.
Earlier it was reported that a group of South Africans disappeared in Mozambique during the holidays. Previously known, that they could drown while swimming in one of the reservoirs. One dead member of the group was found on Thursday, January 17th.
