37 y.o. criminal was arrested by the Hawks unit in Limpopo on last Friday. The captured man believed to be involved in a crime scheme with car smuggling across the border. With other suspect he tried to escape on stolen cars but the plan failed as officers caught him at Hendrik Verwoerd Tunnel near Musina.
«The Hawks acted swiftly on intelligence received regarding two vehicles (a Ford Everest and Chevrolet Cruze) that were allegedly stolen in Gauteng province [and were] en route to Zimbabwe, » provincial Hawks spokesperson captain Matimba Maluleke, said.
Police keeps searching on the second criminal and investigates an opened case. Arrested man expected to be judged in Makhado Magistrate’s Court.
