Umalusi, the council for quality assurance in general and further education, confirmed there weren’t any papers leaks in national senior certificate (NSC) exams this year.
However, according to John Volmink, chairperson of the organisation, the specialists discovered several irregularities in Gauteng and the Eastern Cape.
One of the incidents happened in a Gauteng school where a teacher assisted some of his pupils with the answers. The students involved in these episodes will get an opportunity to rewrite the tests, Volmink said.
The exam results will be released after a New Year’s day, on January 4, 2019.
